Using CDGhost 21st

Create a Virtual CD from folder

  1. Restart the computer after the installation of Virtual CD is complete. (Note: The terms "physical CD drive" and "physical CD" are used here to represent the actual CD-ROM and CDs existing on your computer, as differentiated from the Virtual CDs and Virtual CD drives simulated by the CDGhost 21st system.)
  2. In the Windows Start menu, select CDGhost 21st Management from the CDGhost 21st section of the Programs menu.
  3. In the CDGhost 21st Management interface, click the Create button on the toolbar.

  1. Click Create on the CDGhost 21st Management display toolbar. The Create Virtual CD dialog box appears. Select the source from which the new Virtual CD is to be created by entering the path or using the Browse function, for example: C:\Program Files\GoldenSoft. Click OK. In the Create Virtual CD dialog box click Next.

  1. In the Select Destination File dialog box, type the destination file name and its path, or use the Browse function. This is a folder in which the new Virtual CD will be stored, for example, C:\..\My Gcd\GoldenSoft.gcd. Finally, use the Browse function to specify the Virtual CD file's location in the CD Cabinet, for example, \Programs. Click Finish to complete the operation.

  1. The building of Virtual CD  now begins. You can view the characteristics of the new Virtual CD, including name, source folder, task status, building mode, progress, error number and others. You can see that the file building is in progress along the path: C:\..\My Gcd\GoldenSoft.gcd.

  1. When the progress reaches 100%, Virtual CD building is complete. At this time, on the right side of the window, you will see a building-completed Virtual CD GoldenSoft, which has already been inserted into the Virtual CD Drive (F:).

 

Create a Virtual CD from physical CD

  1. Place a CD  into the physical CD-ROM Drive, in the Create Virtual CD dialog box, choose the source as CD-ROM, then select the CD-ROM Drive in the Drive drop-down list box. click the Next button to continue.

  1. In the subsequent Select Destination File dialog box, decide the destination location where the Virtual CD will be stored, then specify where the Virtual CD will be stationed at the Virtual CD Cabinet. those two locations can be searched via the Browse button. Finally click the Finish button to complete the Virtual CD building.

Note that there are three options available in the Select Destination File dialog box from which the wider uses are provided.

Safe Mode

Checking the Safe Mode option means that even the encrypted CD is needed to be built into a Virtual CD, it does. Yet the building-completed Virtual CD cannot be edited.

Compression Mode

Checking the Compression Mode option means that the Virtual CD will be built with the compression method by which much disk space can be saved.

Insert Virtual CD immediately after it has been created

Checking the Insert Virtual CD immediately after it has been created option means the Virtual CD is usable once the building completes.

  1. If an Audio CD is necessary to be built into a Virtual CD, the Select Destination File dialog box will appear as follows, within the Windows 95 or Windows 98 environments. with the Analog Mode option is ticked, the Virtual CD can be built while you are listening the music. but it requires the audio line and really consumes time. 

Quickly Create a Virtual CD

Place a CD into the physical CD-ROM drive, In the CDGhost 21st Management display, click the Easy button on the toolbar. This will prompt the Quick Creation From Physical CD dialog box. After correctly inputting the relevant parameters and clicking OK, you can immediately create a Virtual CD from a physical CD.
