Birdseye Potato Waffles ‘Make A Meal of It’ TV Advert (1991)

In this advert we see a chef (Gyles Brandreth) carry two plates of food towards a dining table where a young boy is sitting. While carrying the plates to the table, the chef describes the waffles with extravagant words while the young boy translates them into simpler meanings. The video ends with the boy eating one of the waffles and then exclaiming how good they are with his own fancy words, we then cut back to the chef looking into the camera unamused to which at this point the narration cuts in with the slogan and a picture of the box the food is sold in.

My Comments

I quite like this advert, this would be one that makes me feel nostalgic for weird yellow food from my childhood, it also stars a pre-One Show Gyles Brandreth.
