Nissan 3-2-1 Offer Advert (1997)
The advert begins with a period black-and-white clip of a woman screaming and pointing upwards. Two police officers look at what she is looking at and then a police car shows up. Various other emergency vehicles appear such as a fire engine. We then cut to a police officer scaling a building on the ladder from the fire engine to which he ends up exclaiming “Think about the little ones”. The camera then pans out and he goes to reach for a bundle of money (GBP) and then the frame freezes. A voice-over then comes on “This is ridiculous, there is another way of saving money”. The black and white clip transitions to a white screen where the numbers 3 (red) 2 (blue) 1 (yellow) appear on screen – the voice-over introduces the 3-2-1 offer while a blue Nissan Almera, a yellow Nissan Micra and a Red Nissan Primera drive over the writing towards the bottom of the screen, then diagonally and then in different directions. The offer is made up of the following parts:
- 3 years’ free warranty
- 2 years’ free servicing
- 1 years’ free insurance
The clip then ends with the voiceover instructing viewers to see their local Nissan dealer for details while the Nissan logo appears on screen with the slogan “You Can with a Nissan”.
