We had a wonderful summer season in the UK in 2018 with some of the hottest days in years. This meant that I was more than eager to take my then reasonably new Toyota Celica GT-Four to a selection of meets around the country. JapShow at the Santa Pod drag strip was a show that I had missed years previous so I made an effort to visit.
After getting lost trying to find the club stand and nearly ending up on the drag strip itself; we settled down and began to peruse the selection of vehicles on display. Along with this the event had a RWYB style event for mostly Japanese only vehicles which provided some good entertainment for the day.
I probably would visit JapShow again in the future, the selection of cars on show was a nice mix and included some models that I hadn’t seen before at these kind of shows; such as the Honda S660.
This is a post where I will share various bits of information regarding the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III – including adverts, articles, forum posts, pictures, media appearances and more.
This section concerns appearances of this car in television programmes, films or other filmed material that was sold/distributed to the public.
A black Mitsubishi Lancer Evo II modified by Garage Fukui appears as a featured car in the film High Octane 2000 as part of the Option Speed Trial ’99. The film states it is rated to output 550HP. It has the following modifications: RX6 turbocharger, HKS cams, HKS injectors and a Blitz boost controller.
This was one of my favourite shows of the year, if not one of my favourite of all time. I grew up playing rally video games as a kid and thought rally cars were the coolest thing (and still do). This day out was a fantastic time to watch some of these legendary cars going up and down the hill climb, all while being able to get up close and personal with the cars in the paddocks. Aside from the rally legends, there were a few other interesting cars present on the day.
This was the first ever static show that I drove myself to.
It was a pretty decent day and started my enjoyment for taking pictures of cars at shows – more as a hobby of cataloguing what is out there.
Please forgive some of these pictures, some are slightly out of focus, or the white balance is horrendously off. This was my first time trying and things only really improved from here on. Also being mid-September I had to deal with horrendous overcast.
